My boss passed away in 2009 after a long illness. I knew that there would be major changes which would include the loss of my job. I never worried, but trusted in the Word of God and continually quoted the following scriptures: Matthew 6, Proverbs 3:5-6 and Philippians 4:19. My co-workers, friends and family always asked me what I would do when my job ended. I always responded the same way, saying I was going to take it one day at a time. I told them I was not going to worry, because God would supply my needs and open doors for me when the time came. I would quote to them the scriptures I continually spoke to myself.
January 2010, two co-workers were let go by the bosses wife. That left me and another lady in the office. We continued to take it one day at a time and made it through 2010 mainly because the bosses wife wanted us to continue handling the legal stuff and finances. She wanted the Estate closed before she took over the Trust. My co-worker finished what she needed to do and her employment ended in March 2011.
I was told two weeks ago that my employment would end October 28th, which is the end of the month. I had been praying and believing that the Lord would bless me so I would not have to work full-time. All I wanted was to be able to volunteer more at the church. I had others praying and agreeing with me.
Well, that was not what God wanted. I will do more volunteer work at the church but will also work full-time for my pastor. I love it already and have not even started! Being there in the church, working even more closely with my pastor and learning from him will be a blessing. God is good! This is not about what Sandra wanted but what God wanted for Sandra.
How the job came about:
Last Monday morning when I was praying, I heard these words, "listen to the words." I was trying to figure out what it meant because it did not make sense but I listened intently to everything everybody spoke that day.
It is awesome how God works. Monday night, after working at the church, I told my pastor about my last day of work and asked that he start thinking of work I could do for him at the church. He said that wasn't a problem, there was plenty to do. He asked me to consider working for him in his business. I told him that I was praying for God to bless me so that I would not have to work full-time. He told me that he would be believing with me, but to consider his offer.
The next day at work, I told a friend and co-worker about my conversation with the pastor. Without hesitation he spoke these words, "Sandy, God has opened a door for you and you need to walk through it." I was floored! I have been talking with this man for years about the Word and he used it on me! The next thing that happened was at Wal-Mart. I was in the cleaning aisle and had just raised up from comparing prices on stain removers, when this elderly gentleman came up beside me and said, "You have an angel on each side." Floored again!
I could not wait for my husband to call so I could tell him of my experiences. When he called and I told him, he started laughing and asked,"Are you going to call Pastor Tim?"
Immediately after hanging up, I called the pastor and told him that I would take him up on his offer.
I will trust in you Lord for you know what is best for me!

I Have Learned
That I feel better about myself when I make others feel better about themselves.
That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
These were received in an email and they are so true!!!
Take heed!

Smile
"What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.” - Joseph Addison

2011
I want to share this statement from my husband, Robert. Remember that we have obtained all that 2011 has to offer right now, by faith. Psalm 23 says "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want(lack)." My cup runneth over(overflowing in my life and others). So all that is in your spirit is already done.
